The Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation (HCDI – ELKAK) has launched an upgraded Digital Mapping Platform designed to provide a more detailed picture of Greece’s domestic defence innovation capabilities and identify technologies that could contribute to the future development of the country’s defence sector.
The platform maps technological capabilities, products, research and development (R&D) activity and the maturity level of solutions being developed in Greece. Its scope covers companies and research teams of all sizes and across different sectors, including organisations developing both dedicated defence technologies and dual-use solutions.
ELKAK is inviting entities with R&D activities to register on the platform and join the domestic defence innovation ecosystem. Organisations already included in the mapping are also encouraged to update their information, enabling a more accurate representation of their capabilities and areas of expertise.
Updated profiles can be used to connect technologies with specific defence requirements, thematic priorities, funding programmes, testing activities and international opportunities. The platform is also intended to facilitate connections between Greek technology developers and potential partners, investors, organisations and other participants in the defence ecosystem in Greece and abroad.
Registered members will additionally receive access to information on opportunities and activities within the European and NATO defence innovation ecosystems. These include pitching events involving Greek and international investors, as well as focus groups, roundtables, “Ask the Expert” sessions, B2B meetings, national missions and other ELKAK initiatives.

“By updating information and registering entities on the platform, we are creating a single point of reference that strengthens the connection between the Armed Forces, industry, research, startups and investors. Our goal is to accelerate the transformation of Greece’s technological and research potential into operational capabilities for the Armed Forces and developmental value for the country,” he added. ELKAK is a public-sector defence innovation company jointly owned by the Ministry of National Defence, with a 67% stake, and the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (Growthfund), with 33%.
Its activities focus on strengthening Greece’s defence innovation ecosystem, including the development and funding of R&D projects involving dual-use technologies. ELKAK also connects startups, SMEs, research centres, military academies and established defence companies with the Armed Forces, Security Forces and Civil Protection.
